PA & Spanish Home Office (Extranjería-Visas)

As your personal assistant (PA),

I can work closely with you to provide business management and relocation support in the following areas:

NIE & Residencia

The NIE is an identification number issued to people in Spain who are not Spanish citizens, and not permanent residents. It is assigned by the Spanish authorities (Cuerpo Nacional de Policia), to any foreigner, whether resident or non-resident, with interests in Spain or who may be planning to carry out a transaction in Spain, e.g. buying a property; signing a document at Notary, or starting a business.

All EU and EEA (European Economic Area) citizens and their family members have the right to visit, live or work in Spain.  For stays of up to 3 months, there is no need to register as a resident in Spain. Someone coming to live or work in Spain long term would typically apply for a residency card, (Tarjeta de Residencia), which confirms an individual's residency status in Spain.

We can help you with the process of obtaining your NIE and Residencia in Spain. Individual circumstances apply.

On-site Translations

Quite often you might have to deal people at the Social Security Offices, Town Halls and / or the local Hacienda who only speak Spanish and the language and procedures can be quite confusing for inexperienced people and translators. We have a wealth of experience to help you through difficult situations and make the process a lot easier for you.

Schooling - registration

If you are relocating to Spain with your family, then you will need to find a school in the local area that caters for the requirements you want for your children.

We have a lot of experience with helping expats going through all the official procedures for private and public schools, as well as arranging the correct documentation for registration.

Doctors registration & translations

It's always good to be prepared regarding your health, so one of the first things to do when you relocate in Spain is to register with a doctor. We can assist you through all the administration and registrations process.

Any other official work

Maybe you need help with something more specific relating to your business, Town Halls or relocation to Spain, in case, please contact us and we can discuss your exact requirements in more detail.

Spanish Home Office (Extranjería-Visas)

Do I need a visa for Spain?

Under the Freedom of Movement Act, if you’re a national from one of the countries in the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) – that is, all the countries of the EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway – or Switzerland, you don’t need a visa or other permit to visit, live, work or study in Spain.

EU/EEA and Swiss citizens moving to Spain will need to register with the authorities and get a national identity number.

Spain is one of 26 countries making up the ‘Schengen’ area: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland. They have one common visa and no border controls between them.

There are three types of visa allowing entry to Spain:

  • Airport transit visa.

  • Short-stay Schengen visa.

  • Long-term visa.
