Spanish Tax and Accountancy

As your personal assistant (PA),

We can work closely with you to tax and accounting services in the following areas:

Autonomous Registrations

Autonomous status is the Spanish equivalent of self-employed or freelance and in addition, covers people operating (unincorporated) small businesses.  Anyone engaged in any of these activities is obliged to legalise them with respect to registration, paying the taxes and charging IVA (VAT).  We can assist you in registering your business as Autonomous in Spain.

Autonomous Accountancy

There are a number of different procedures regarding invoicing, IVA (VAT) and allowable expenses and subsidies, as well as the process for submitting your accounts is very different in Spain. We can carry out this work for you and take the weight off your shoulders.

Bureaucracy for Autonomous on Site

It is fair to say that the autonomous system is not well-loved by foreigners in Spain who are put off by the social security monthly payments. However, it is quite a flexible option and can often be the solution to business problems. We can take you through all the different procedures and explain what is available to you.

SL's Registrations

Most people starting a small business or setting themselves up in private practice opt to go autonomo because it is the quickest, simplest and cheapest way of registering a business.

Depending on your earnings an alternative is the limited company ("Sociedad Limitada" or SL). I can also help you to register your business as SL.

SL's Accountancy

The main differences between the Spanish companies  Sociedad Anónima “S.A”. and a Sociedad Limitada “S.L”  derive from their conception: On broad terms, the S.A. is a corporate structure mostly designed for large corporations while the S.L. was conceived to be used for small or family owned companies where the trust and personal relationship constitutes the basis of the foundation of the company. For this reason, the legal structure and mechanisms to operate an S.L. are less sophisticated than those of an S.A.

When you choose to set up your business as an S.L. we will undertake the work on your behalf and guide you through the legal process.

Self Assessment Tax - Private Individual tax returns

Once you become a resident in Spain, either as a pensioner or an early retiree, personal tax returns have to be submitted once a year between April and June.

We can undertake this work on your behalf.

Tourist Apartments & Accounting

2019 will see a number of significant changes in Spain’s rental laws from the length of contracts to what taxes need to be paid. We can identify the key changes pertinent for both landlords and lessees.
